Verification Standards
Effective date: 20 August 2026 · Version: 2026.08.20
This document explains what Hospiverse verification badges mean, the evidence normally checked and the limits of verification.
1. Core Principle
A verification badge reports a defined check completed using evidence available on a stated date. It is not insurance, certification by Hospiverse, endorsement, a promise of performance, or a guarantee that every future statement or transaction will be accurate.
No account or product may be described as "100% verified" without identifying the specific checks completed.
2. Badge Definitions
2.1 Identity/Account Verified
Hospiverse checked the authorised representative's contact/account control using available verification methods. It does not verify financial capacity or every personal claim.
2.2 Business Registration Checked
Hospiverse reviewed a business/company registration record and matched basic legal details. It does not mean the business holds every sector licence or is financially sound.
2.3 GST Status Checked
Hospiverse checked a GSTIN/status against available evidence on the displayed date. This does not confirm the tax rate for a product, return filing, input-credit eligibility or future status. An unregistered business must not receive this badge.
2.4 FSSAI Licence/Registration Checked
Hospiverse checked the number, named FBO, premises/category and validity to the extent available. It does not mean FSSAI endorses the business/product, that every SKU is covered, or that current food is safe.
2.5 Brand Owner/Representative Checked
Hospiverse reviewed evidence that the account owns the brand or is authorised to represent it for the stated scope. It does not establish exclusivity unless expressly verified.
2.6 Authorised Dealer/Distributor Checked
Hospiverse reviewed current written authority from the brand/manufacturer or another reliable source specifying relevant territory/product/scope. The badge expires with that authority and is not applied based solely on seller assertion.
2.7 Product Certificate Document Reviewed
Hospiverse reviewed a submitted certificate/declaration for issuer, model/scope and date. This is not an independent laboratory test or legal determination. CE, BIS, ISO and other schemes have different meanings; the badge must name the exact document/scheme rather than use a generic "certified" claim.
2.8 Verified Buyer
Hospiverse checked business/contact information appropriate to the account. It does not guarantee payment, creditworthiness or authority for a specific purchase.
2.9 Verified Consultant
Hospiverse reviewed identity, selected qualifications/experience evidence and business contact. It does not guarantee professional quality, licence where none was checked, or an engagement result.
3. Verification Process
Depending on badge/risk, Hospiverse may:
- review submitted documents;
- consult an official registry;
- contact an issuer, brand or reference;
- verify a business email/telephone/domain;
- compare legal names, addresses and dates;
- request clarification or updated evidence; and
- conduct periodic or event-triggered re-verification.
4. Display Standard
Where practical, a badge tooltip/profile should display:
- badge name;
- what was checked;
- date last checked;
- expiry/review date; and
- a link to these Standards.
Raw KYC documents, personal identifiers and confidential evidence are not published.
5. Expiry and Continuing Duty
The account must notify Hospiverse within two business days of expiry, suspension, withdrawal, investigation or material change. Hospiverse may automatically expire a badge, request fresh evidence, restrict leads or remove content.
6. Verification Is Not Transaction Due Diligence
Buyers must still verify the specific quotation, bank account, invoice, authority, product model, licence scope, certificate, warranty and delivery arrangement. A certificate for one model or jurisdiction does not cover every product.
7. Fraud and Badge Misuse
Altering documents, using another entity's number, copying a badge off-platform or continuing to display an expired status may lead to immediate restriction, evidence preservation and reporting.
8. Reporting an Incorrect Badge
Send the profile/listing URL, badge, reason and evidence to jigar.chanana@hospiverse.in. We will handle the report under the Grievance Policy.
